Out and About: South Coast again!

First post of the new year – Happy 2018!

I told myself that I would get a post out within the first few days but somehow its already the end of January.

So this post is about our short trip to the South Coast last December. We spent about four days cruising along the beautiful towns of Kiama, Berry and Jervis Bay. We had to attend a friend’s wedding at Berry and decided to make a road trip out of the whole thing.

The weather was amazing. I could not have asked for better weather. So much sunshine – we came back so tanned!

We stayed at an Airbnb in Kiama for the entire trip. On the first day we stopped by Jamberoo – the water park. I’m not a huge fan of water parks but it was great fun for Z. We could only go on kiddy things but since I’m so chicken that’s probably a good thing! We even got to go tobogganing, which  was terrifying at first, but the view when we were coming down was awesome.

On the second day we drove down to Jervis Bay and basked all day under the sun and amongst the lovely white beaches. Had the best fish and chips for lunch – so juicy and fresh. That’s probably the day that we got so burnt from the sun.

Day 3 was the wedding so we spent the morning doing a few things locally. And then headed off to Berry after lunch. That’s exactly when the rainfall started. Such a shame as the weather had been amazing so far. We attended the wedding at Willow farm and I really wish the weather had been nicer for us to enjoy. But overall it was a great day and we had a lot of fun catching up with all our friends. The few shots that I took don’t do justice to the beauty of the place.

On our last day at Kiama we had brunch and hung out at parks and near the water. This is probably the first time in a long time that I had such a relaxing vacation. Most of our trips involve way too many activities and not much of relaxing. But this one was just perfect.
